Music is changing my Religion

I am always inspired by the Urdu language and poetry and loves listening Gazals and Qawwaali’s quite often. Jagjit Singh had a special place in my music treasure and still I am not able to find anything more soulful than his Gazals. If you think the other way try listening to ‘Seher’ and ‘Marasim’ and you too would find the music and the lyrics touching if you have a liking for the language and poetry. Take for instance Nusrat’s Qawwaali, the most refined example of Sufi music which makes you feel the presence of God itself.
But what makes me wonder that how can listening to Gazals and Qawwali’s can change your religion. At least that’s how my so close relative thinks every time I start listening Gazals or Qawwaali’sTo add to it she tries it very hard to make my parents also believe in the same theory of hers. According it can influence my religion and God too... hey Bhagwan…. Give me break ! I don’t find anything wrong with my liking and as a matter of fact I find Urdu a very expressive and deep language with a long and a rich vocabulary of words to describe any feeling in the most beautiful form either be it words or poetry.
And if listening to Gazals and Qawwaali can turn me Muslim, then WAIT…. I am also turning a Sikh, because I like their food and the Happy spirit.., I am also a Christian for their adaptive ness and broadminded attitude.., a Buddhist by values.., and a Hindu by Birth. Now for that reason I am turning all the above at the same go. But I am now loving it cause it makes me a Indian in the true spirit…Secular.
